This section contains many of the rehabilitation exercises and protocols we use to treat our patients and manage their injuries.  We attempt to add new exercises and update our protocols regularly.  Check back soon if you do not find what you need.

It is important to do the exercise given to you by your specialist in order to expedite your recovery.

Please remember these exercises are only part of your treatment strategy. If you are not improving please book an appointment to discuss your progress and rehabilitation program.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend your appointment, or for whatever reason simply choose not to attend, please call reception at the earliest possible time.  If we do not receive notification at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled visit, you will be charged. 

Furthermore, if the fee for the missed appointment is not paid, no further bookings for appointments will be accepted.

Exceptions to this policy may be made but only at the discretion of the Practice Manager.

Ice Massage

Ice is a powerful natural anti-inflammatory and analgesic (pain killer). Ice massage is a great way to get the best benefit from this treatment and can be a great way to manage acute and chronic injuries.

 

Achilles Tendon Rupture

Oh no what kicked me in the leg..? Nobody there? Perhaps you have ruptured your achilles tendon? How this injury should be treated is often hotly debated. At Axis we can help decide what is best for you.

 

Walk Jog Program

Is your injury starting to feel better? Able to walk without pain? If so you might be ready to start getting back into some exercise. Click here to read about how to do this safely.

 

FIFA 11+

The “FIFA 11+ ” is a complete warm-up programme to reduce injuries among male and female football players aged 14 years and older. When done twice a week you can reduce the risk of all injuries by 30% and severe injuries by 50%.

 

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a promising treatment which can be used to attempt to encourage healing of tendon and cartilage injuries. Platelets are extracted from a patients own blood and are injected into the damaged area.

 

Cycle Rehab Program

A graduated cycling rehabilitation program that can be used for some knee and lower limb conditions.

 

Shockwave Therapy

Shock Wave Therapy is a popular but unusual sounding treatment. A small jackhammer–like device is used to stimulate repair.
