Our New Rosedale Clinic is Now Open

We are thrilled to announce our fourth clinic in Auckland is now open at 18Triton Drive, Rosedale.

This new clinic will serve as the hub for all our concussion services on the North Shore (St Johns will continue as our hub for those south of the bridge), while also offering, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and of course specialist medical support from our Sport and Exercise Physicians (led by Dr Dan Exeter).

“Over the past few years at Axis, we have grown our concussion capability and we believe that we now offer the most comprehensive concussion service in the New Zealand, from baseline testing through to our concussion rehabilitation services, as well as the ongoing research conducted by our clinicians. Today we are seeing more than double the concussion patients than we did two years ago, so it makes sense to add a new location and centralise a lot of the services that our North Shore patients need in Rosedale”, says Dr Mark Fulcher, Managing Director at Axis.

The Axis Concussion Service brings together an inter-disciplinary team of Sport and Exercise Physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, neuropsychologists, psychologists and nurses. As a result we have the expertise and capacity to help a wide range of concussion patients.

“Recently we have found it difficult to create sufficient capacity to service our concussion referrals, especially those with sport related concussion. Our expansion presents an exciting opportunity for us to better serve these patients and their referrers. We will be able to provide an early assessment and treatment in a ‘one-stop’ clinic environment, incorporating new technology including Neuroflex virtual reality goggles and Cognigram testing (neuropsychological screening). Our patients will have access to the same assessments, treatment and technology at Axis as professional athletes competing in elite sporting competitions such as the NRL. We are also excited to be able to offer baseline testing for those who play high-risk sport to try to minimise the impact of future concussions.”

By opening Rosedale there is now more capacity for North Shore patients (especially physiotherapy), and it allows us to expand our services at Wairau Valley, where we can continue to see patients for physiotherapy and pelvic physiotherapy, in addition to our specialist medical services. Our Queenstown clinic also offers a concussion service and has access to the same technology and locally based expert concussion clinicians.

Rosedale is now open for referrals and we're looking forward to seeing your patients at our new clinic (or at any one of our four Auckland clinics) soon.
