Dr Lincoln Wharetohunga is a Sport and Exercise Physician at Axis with experience across multiple elite teams, including the NZ Women's Football team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, U20 All Blacks, Hurricanes Poua, and Central Pulse. Lincoln has a special interest in the management of acute sporting injuries and the use of procedural interventions to optimise recovery and performance.

Lincoln is a Māori Sport and Exercise Physician, of Ngāti Whātua and Ngāpuhi descent. He is committed to health equity and how this can be challenged in the Sport and Exercise Medicine field.

Lincoln holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Auckland and became a Fellow of the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians in 2025.  

Lincoln enjoys an active lifestyle - current passions include tennis and surfing.
