Emma graduated as a physiotherapist in the UK and worked in the National Health Service for five years before she moved to New Zealand.
She has a keen interest in sports physiotherapy. Her current role involves providing care for the NZ Men’s Vantage Black Sticks Hockey Team with whom she travelled to the Birmingham Commonwealth Games. Prior to this she worked as a team Physiotherapist for Auckland Cricket for four seasons for both the Hearts and Aces. She was a Classifier for British Athletics, providing comprehensive athlete evaluations to categorise Paralympic Athletes into competition categories. Furthermore, she was Great Britain’s Sitting Volleyball Physiotherapist and travelled internationally with the team for their tournaments.
Emma is enthusiastic individual who is committed to the provision of high-quality care and is passionate about working with athletes and clients to help them accomplish their goals. Her aim is to champion the importance of movement and positive daily habits to maintain overall health and well-being and when required, symptom-focussed rehabilitation programmes to allow returns to peak performance.
Emma is a former sprint hurdler, now trading the track for jogs along Tamaki Drive but has a keen interest in creating specific return to running programmes. Emma continues to be amazed by the New Zealand landscape and enjoys exploring it at every opportunity.
