Harvey graduated with a degree in BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy from Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK in 2011 where he spent time in the USA, working with University of California and Sacramento State University. He started his career working in football, at the Wolverhampton Wanderers as an Academy Physiotherapist, then onto St George's Park, the National Football Centre in the UK with the Professional Footballers Association Residential Rehabilitation Scheme, and the Football Association Men's Development squads. He achieved his Master's degree in Advancing Physiotherapy (Musculoskeletal) at Sheffield Hallam University in 2016.
Harvey began a role with Athletics New Zealand in 2017. Prior to leaving the UK, he was England Athletics Regional Hub Physiotherapist and Loughborough University Lead Athletics Physiotherapist, alongside Physiotherapy roles with Premier League Match Officials (PGMOL) and British Athletics. He was also a guest lecturer at the University of Nottingham.
